It's a remarkable "save", for a car that looked really sad at the start. Wonderful!

This month I woke up the car to get a little done. It has mostly been waiting on my body guy to finish the Mini, but I've also been pretty busy.

I found a little time on this trip to Tarija to squeeze in a little work on the Renault, so I assembled the front brakes and suspension with the parts that had been in the machine shop for a year or so.

And since I had to give up on restoring the old seats, and even the first set of replacement front seats, I finally got a new set of seats and stripped and painted it to start the upholstery.

Finally have something significant to update. I got my body guy working on it, and we now have it painted. Working on reassembly now. I had to make the springs for the front doors, and re-chromed the hood hinges, straightening and re-chroming the Bumpers. I've also located the two new wheels I need (in Sao Paulo) and they should be here in a couple of weeks. I also located 5.60-15 tires, and will be taking my hub caps to be re-chromed next week after some straightening. I also pulled the dash apart, painted it a brown to match the upholstery, polished up the trim, etc.

I had also finished the upholstery and straightened/polished the stainless trim for the windshield and rear window.

Believe it or not, I have gotten some things done, just not updated here.
First was work on details, with the dash and lettering, Duplicating the one side logo I had. I did these in fiber side there are a lot of ridges that would be hard to fill with aluminum. I have now obtained a Dauphine script that I will try to duplicate in aluminum before deciding which I'll put in what positions on the car.

Then went on to do more work on the dash

And work restoring the roof trim that was damaged by the crane when they brought the car to me back when I bought it.
