Default 2014 Carlisle Import Show, Carlisle, PA May 16-18

4th Annual International French Car Meet

Every year we look for new ways to improve upon this event, and each year planning begins earlier and earlier. For the first time we started laying the groundwork for next year’s show on Sunday of this year’s event. We decided to extend our annual toy drive to a competition between all the clubs participating at the Import show in order to serve more children in need. We have even brought in the Marine Corp Toys for Tots as a new recipient, as well as the Boy Scouts to help out.

With the help of the Antique Automobile Club of America, and the Renault Owner Club of North America we have decided to put together a special display of pre-war French cars. We hope to feature all the major manufacturers and a few you may have never heard of from the late 1800s up through the 1930s. We also hope to get cooperation from all the French clubs so we can line the cars up by year rather than by make on Saturday.

The Central PA Chapter of the Renault Owners Club has decided to featuring the milestone of the 30th Anniversary of the Renault Encore, the lesser known and more practical cousin of the Alliance in the U.S. Besides the Encore display we will field a display of Renaults spanning nearly 100 years.

On top of all these great displays The Renault Owners Club of North America will have our flags and banners proudly flying on the fairground and will have a hospitality tent on the show field. So look for a unique display in our club tent, and a large celebration. Remember when you register, sign up with the Renault Owners Club.

We have unique events planned for each day. We hope to have our welcome party on Thursday in Harrisburg as we have done in years past. On Friday we are adding a visit to the Rolls Royce Foundation in neighboring Mechanicsburg a visit you won’t want to miss. Also on Friday is the much anticipated Toy Drive thru the Carlisle countryside as well as our charity dinner and a movie. On Saturday we kick it off with our weekly meeting at the Middlesex Diner, and go all day with a swap meet as well as car show and charity auction. On Sunday we will begin working on next year’s show and say farewell until next time.

There is still much to decide we will also try to fit in a seminar and a tech session or two, and hopefully the popular pre-war racer demonstration at the Carlisle Circuit. Who knows maybe a surprise guest! We will update you as these additional activities become set. This is a one of a kind opportunity to see French cars from all eras in one unique setting. We hope to see you there!
