    Default Encore shifter adjustment.

Hello everyone, 1984 Encore 1.4lt, 5spd. Replaced the engine and while in there the shift rod from bottom of shifter to the transaxle. I had reverse before the engine change/rod replacement, now I do not. I have attempted the adjustments that can be made at the "reverse lockout" end of the shifter but still no reverse. Is there something I'm missing? Suggestions would be great. Take care.

Did you get it all sorted?

I normally mark the Shift Rod where it meets the base of the Gear Stick, that normally prevents having to go through the setup.

If for some reason the mark is unreadable or worn off, I just make sure that Selector Lever in the base of the Gearbox (JB3) moves fully up as the selector rod is moved one and fully down moving the other way. It may take a few attempts until you're happy with position, but still pretty easy to do.
