Thread: 67 Caravelle electrical problem - no lights to the rear

Default 67 Caravelle electrical problem - no lights to the rear

On my 67 Caravelle, now experiencing an issue with headlights, parking lights and some dash lights working fine with light switch on, but have no power going to rear lights, license lights, or the speedo and tach lights. Not seeing any tell-tale loose wire, but jiggling the "bird's nest" cluster underneath did seem to fix it once before. Fuses good. Do you think it's inside the switch or is it an issue with an attachment to the cluster. Not a separate ground for this, is there?
Might be beyond my expertise to troubleshoot.

Just saw this Kurt - will look at the diagram.
did you say "bird's nest"? I say "rat's nest"! the other pic shows how the cluster is attached to the dash, fyi.

Thanks, I solved my problem. The entire dash had been replaced a few years ago, but the people I had do it did not splice connections well, so that over the years a couple of these connections failed. Very tricky to troubleshoot since I though it might have been a pulled connection in the speedo cluster you posted.
