Default Let's turn our radios on ...

    Hello guys!

Just a quick question to wake you up, does your Renault has a working audio system? I guess it does, no matter how old could it be, I always relate a good driving with a good music soundtrack. Now my second question is
what do you hear on your Renault?

I'm a music lover and collect music in all many formats, I do my own music and have a small home studio. I did Beatles Radio Shows in my twenties and have a wide musical taste.

Even though my Encore GS 1986 still doesn't have a radio installed (just put new door locks and window mechanisms on it last weekend) I have a 1999 Mini Disc Sony Stereo with iPod input for it waiting to be installed, some discs and an ipod ready to rock

My playlists for the road include:

    Billboard Top 100 of 1986
    Latin Hits of 1986
    Any classic rock mix,
    Absolutely Beatles solo and together
Some Latin Rock from the Mid Eighties
and a weird mix of rarities such as Hoagy Carlmichael, George Formby, Tiny Tim, Rolf Harris, etc.

I'm looking for a good compilation of French Hits of 1984-1985-1986-1987, Safranc, do you have anything to share or trade?

I like to listen Spanish 80´s pop music on my Renault. I love Spandau Ballet,Fleetwood Mac (when I travel with my 12 Sara and Gypsy make me feel wonders),Crowded House and the King of Spain in 80´s and 90´s: El Fary (tipycall Spanish songs of flamenco)
El Fary (true name Jose Luis Cantero) was a taximan in Madrid. He died in June 2007.
If you look songs of El Fary you will discover the most poor Spanish people (El Fary was born in Cuenca,a little village near Madrid)

I love to listen El Fary on my Renault 12

Spanish 80's pop music is one of my favourites, basically those groups that crossed the Atlantic in the mid 80s. I was a teenager then and it was the music the kids of my age used to listen.

Mecano, Ole Ole, Dhuncan Dhu (my 6 year old daughter loves their full album), Hombres G, all of them!

    Need to listen El Fary

And at last the best:The original soundtrack of the film "Torrente,el brazo tonto de la ley" directed by Santiago Segura.Torrente was a rare policeman

The car Torrente used is a Seat 1430 (Fiat licensed) one of the most popular cars in 70´s in Spain with The Renault 12 and Simca 1200.

Yesterday I told you that El Fary was a Taximan. The first car Fary drives was a Renault 12 Taxi with a Liquid Petrol Gas 1,4 litre engine. The last car Fary drives was a Renault 18 Diesel Taxi.

Espero que les gusten los videos de El Fary

I had never see El Fary in Mexico before, it's quite peculiar. I was in Spain in the mid nineties but I don't remember having seen or hear anything from him, I was too much into "la marcha" probably I heard him but I don't remember

Thanks a lot for sharing El Fary!

Default Another album for my Renault 1986

I have Sleedgehammer from Peter Gabriel on the playlist of the Encore 1986 and yesterday I found this beautiful album by the one and only Chet Atkins:

Street Dreams is an album by Chet Atkins on the Columbia label.

All songs by Darryl Dybka unless noted.
    1. "Spats ‘n’ Hats" – 3:59
    2. "(Like A) Crystal in the Light" – 3:31
    3. "The Official Beach Music" – 3:48
    4. "Street Dreams" – 4:33
    5. "(If You’ll) Stay a Little Longer" (Hall, Paul Yandell) – 4:18
    6. "Classical Gas" (Mason Williams) – 3:52
    7. "The Last Farewell" (Webster, Whitaker) – 4:14
    8. "Alisha" – 3:43
    9. "The Homecoming Anthem" – 4:17
    10. "Honolulu Blue" (Chet Atkins, John Knowles) – 2:08

Other album from 1986 I've got is Press To Play by Paul McCartney, one of his most underrated albums.

    Regards and keep Renaulting!

I'm enjoying a lot a collection I was given by Francois Perea of french hits from the 1980s to 2000's.

Yesterday I bought a 5 cd collection "Paris Cheri" with 100 of the most classic french hits featuring Yves Montand, Gilbert Becaud, Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, etcetera.

Very pleasant music, I wish I had a 4cv to play the songs on it. The Encores are too new for this vintage hits.
